This kit is loaded with everything that you need to get started flying an extremely fun Mini Whoop while making it as easy as possible. Mini Whoops are fully functional FPV quadcopters that are small in size but packed with tons of fun. The BETAFPV 65S Lite quadcopter runs the Silverlight firmware which gives you the full experience that you would in flying full size quadcopters, but without all of the complexity of running the typical complex Betaflight software. Spend more time flying and less time learning complex software.
BETAFPV 65S Lite Micro Whoop Quadcopter
The BETAFPV 65S Lite is a brushed flight controller running the Silverware firmware. The BETAFLIGHT 65S Lite comes with 17500kv 7x16mm motors with 3-blade propellers. The All-In-One Video Camera and Transmitter is the same BETAFPV Z01 25mW 48Channel camera that is sold on the BETAFPV 65S model. The batteries are the 3.7V 260mAh batteries which will provide approximately 3 minutes of flight time. The BETAFPV 65S Lite model does not sacrifice performance or features.
TX01 Radio Transmitter
The TX01 Radio Transmitter is a 6 Channel 2.4Ghz system running the Bayang Protocol. This protocol is used by other beginner quadcopter manufactures such as Eachine, JJRC, and Bayang Toys. If you decide to upgrade to a Frsky transmitter at a later time, then all you would need to do is to purchase a Multiprotocol module for your Frsky radio. The TX01 radio is a great balance between the lower end beginner radios and the higher performing radios like Frsky, Flysky or Spektrum.
Silverware Flight Firmware
Silverware is an open sourced firmware that is designed for micro quadcopters that don’t need all of the features than can complicate the hobby but still supports the key flight modes of Level Mode (also known as Angle Mode) and Acro Mode. Level mode is much easier to fly and the firmware assists in keeping the quadcopter level. The Acro Mode is for advanced pilots that want less assistance and full control. Silverware does allow for customization of settings through stick commands, also known as gestures, to adapt the micro quadcopter to your personal preferences. This allows you to change PID settings, calibrate the accelerometer, change modes and save settings.
The flight controller for the BETAFPV 65S Lite comes pre-flashed with Silverware firmware and as stated above it supports Level and Acro flight modes, allows changes to settings through stick commands. The built in receiver chip is the XN297LBW single chip wireless transceiver and is running the Bayang protocol which is compatible with many other radio transmitters and even the popular Frsky radio transmitters that are equipped with the Multi-protocol module.
The flight controller has four built in ESCs that are rated at 6.3A that can drive 6x15mm, 7x20mm, or 8x20mm motors which means they have the power for you to upgrade to bigger motors if you chose to do so at a later time. You may have to change the frame to fit the larger motors. The flight controller board also utilizes the standard JST-PH 2.0 connectors, also known as the PowerWhoop connector.

BETAFPV VR006 FPV Goggles
The BETAFPV VR006 FPV goggles last 1 hour on a charge, but you can also run them from a power supply with the USB connector. They also have an on-screen display (OSD) that shows you the battery voltage level and the frequency that you are receiving on. These goggles will work with the common 40 channels on the 5.8Ghz band that is typical of any of the FPV video transmitters and goggles that are used in the FPV quadcopter hobby. This means that you can also use these goggles on your next FPV quadcopter.
VR006 FPV Goggle Specifications:
You would expect the starter kit to come with the lower grade LiPo batteries but that is not the case here! This kit ships with two BETAFPV 260mAh HV LiPo batteries. The HV LiPo batteries are rated at 4.35V instead of the typical 3.7V batteries and extend the flying time as well as deliver more punch out power. The kit also includes a USB battery charger and battery voltage checker so that you can carefully maintain your batteries.
Caution: These are LiPo batteries and they come with all of the fire danger associated to these batteries. Over charging and running them too low SIGNIFICANTLY increases the risks. Always charge the batteries in a fire safe location and a LiPo fire resistant bag is highly recommended. Please learn the proper handling of LiPo batteries. It is worth the time!
The BETAFPV Starter Kit has everything and more that you need to be able to start flying a Mini Whoop quadcopter (drone) as soon as you get the box. This kit comes loaded with spares that will keep you flying. This kit even includes a spare frame in the event you crash hard enough to crack the frame. The kit comes with additional propellers, motors, a frame, a propeller removal tool and a small Philips screw driver.
